What is the book about?
It is about a man named Bud Corliss who wants to marry a rich girl Dorothy Kingship. Dorothy gets pregnant and Bud understands that he can’t get any money in these circumstances so he decides to kill her and let it look like a suicide.
After this he tries to marry the sister of Dorothy, Ellen. Ellen doesn’t believe that her sister committed suicide. She begins a research and founds two suspects: Gordon Gant and Dwight Powel. She thought that Dwight was the murderer. Bud saw that she came closer to the real murderer, so he kills Ellen and Dwight too.
